入厝

入厝嚕! 爸媽從台南上來, 謝謝外公和舅舅一家到來, 也謝謝三姨從澳洲傳來的祝福, 可惜翔翔生病姊姊家不能來. 下次嚕! :-)

"入厝" means the tradition of officially moving into a house. Thanks the coming of my grandfather and my uncle's family. The greeting from aunt Phoebe from Australia was well received. Of course my parents and my brother came as well. It's a pity that my sister's family could not join because my nephew was sick. Next time!

盧卡咖啡算是目前我在林口最喜歡的餐廳, 氣氛佳, 菜色也很讚. 照片後面的進口杯子客人可以購買專用, 有看到朱木炎的杯子喔!

Luccano is my favorite restaurant in Linkou so far. The food is good and the atmosphere is easy. Customers could buy cups and put them in the store, as shown in the photo. There is a cup of Mu-Yen Chu, an Olympia champion of Taekwondo (kickboxing). :-)

We always celebrate Chinese New Year's Eve with the family. Since my sister got married, there were four people in my family. According to the tradition, parents would give red envelops with money inside to children. That's why I got one red envelop. When children started to work, they should give red envelops to parents instead. That's why my dad got two envelops, one from me and the other from my brother. (My mom got one more from my dad.) Of course I need to give one to my brother because he is younger than me. The next day my brother and I got one more from my older sister. :-)

The second day is the day which married women went back to their parents' houses. (Traditionally married women celebrate the Chinese New Year's Eve and the first day with the husbands' families. However my sister always come back on the first day. Although my grandparents of my dad's side passed away already, my uncles and aunts still consider my family as original home because my father is the oldest son in the family and my grandparents used to live with us. Therefore as usual on the second day we had a dinner gathering as a big family, including my sister's family as well.

初二叔淑姑姑大家都回來了, 今年在濃園滿和餐廳聚餐, 菜色不錯又有獨立空間, 蠻值得下次再去的, 吃完來個家族合照~

Moving to the new home!

On Jan 22nd, I arranged the moving to my new apartment. The two workers from the moving company were very efficient and careful with my stuff.

一月22日, 搬家嚕! 搬家公司的兩個工人非常有效率且小心的幫我般東西.

After a long long day, I finished the unpacking and made the apartment livable. I am very satisfied with my new apartment! The window curtains are still waiting to be ordered. It's one of the tasks during Chinese New Year holiday. :-)

經過漫長的一天, 我好不容易將所有的東西歸位讓新家看起來乾淨舒適. 我非常滿意我的新家, 窗簾就等過年假的時候再處理嚕~

My apartment is almost ready! It's amazing that everything was almost done within 3 weeks! There are so many people have provided me all kinds of advice and support to make it possible.

在許多人的建議和幫忙之下, 我的新家在3個禮拜內已經快好了!

Joyce is the key person to make it possible! Thanks for her time, effort, and profession to discuss the interior design. Joyce is very good at catching my points and helps me to decide what to implement this time, especially when I am making too many dreams. :-) Without her, it's impossible to move in before Chinese New Year!

心怡是最大功臣, 她非常能夠抓到我的重點並在我做夢的時候將我抓回現實協助我做決定, 沒有她的專業協助我是不可能在過年前搬進新家的!

The Sony Bravia LCD was the first electronics I bought. Thanks Jerry's help on buying this with the employee price.

謝謝正男兄好康到相報, 讓我用員工價買到我的第一個電器 - Sony 40吋液晶電視.

In fact, even the economic situation helps a bit. I didn't have any difficulty while arranging days off and I had more bargaining power while purchasing. Meanwhile, the interest rate of the loan is lower as well. I was lucky I guessed. :-P

其實變糟的經濟情勢也幫了我一些忙, 我請假沒有遇到太大的困難, 買東西議價空間變大了, 連貸款利率都低很多, lucky喔~

The apartment was new without any decoration yet. The workers started working on this day.

還沒有任何裝潢, 工人這天開始工作.

Jan 10th

Ceiling and breakouts were finished.

天花板和水電配線完成.

Jan 17th

The painting was done, but some colors were not exactly what I requested. This was fixed later. The construction of the cabinets was in progress.

油漆完成了(有些顏色和我要的有些微落差, 但之後解決了), 系統櫃施工中.


Jan 21th

All the decoration was done, and only some minor issues were left. In the morning Fareh came from HsinChu to help me on cleaning. In the afternoon I arranged to have all the furniture and electric equipments arrived.

裝潢完成, 佩真這天早上從新竹趕來幫我清掃, 下午傢俱和電器陸續抵達.

ps. After all the hard work, Fareh took a rest and read a bit. Thank you very much for the support, Fareh! ^_^

ASML ACE's Grand Opening and Employee Appreciation Party

Today is ASML ACE's Grand opening. Some representatives from the governmnet, suppliers, and clients were invited for a small ceremony. Some of us played host to the guests. Some colleagues who like photography were responsible for taking photos. With everyone's effort, the ceremony went quite well.

今天是ASML ACE正式開幕, 公司邀請了一些政府相關人員, 廠商以及客戶參與一個小型的開幕式, 我們一些人加入工作人員的行列幫忙招呼客人, 玩攝影的幾位同事則擔當攝影師, 在大家共同努力下賓主盡歡, 一切順利進行並落幕.

Tonight it was arranged with the Employee Appreciation Party as well. Normally the companies in Taiwan would hold dinner parties at the end of each year to thank the employees. However this year, due to the unpleasant economic situation, the party was canceled. The EWC still held a party, but used our own money. No matter what, the most important thing is that everyone had fun! The emcee prepared some good presentations to create lots of laughs. Thanks for the colleagues who contributed their time on this. :-)

晚上剛好是員工餐會, 經濟不景氣沒有尾牙, 這次活動的費用也是我們自己繳的福委會的錢, 不過大家玩的很高興就好, 唱歌跳舞, 主持人也認真準備串場活動讓現場氣氛樂開懷, 真要感謝這些同事的付出. :-)

Ownership transferring

Today after some administration, I officially became the owner of my new apartment! The procedure of transferring was well organized. Farglory decorated the hall like Chinese New Year. ^_^

The staffs checked details one by one with me to ensure I got everything. All the way starting from buying the apartment one year ago, I have been satisfied with Farglory's service. Mr. Chen, the supervisor of the construction site, has been very supportive and saved me lots of time.

Thanks Joyce, my friend and interior designer, for waking up at 5:30AM in the morning to come to Linkou and helping me to lay the protection boards. As Joyce arranged, coming with their tools at 10:00AM, the workers started working today.

Happy New Year!

We celebrated the New Year's Eve at Chia-Ni's apartment, and then run to Taipei 101 to count down and see the firework.

After the firework, we took a walk in the city to feel the happiness in the public. To participate the traditional flag-raising ceremony held by the government in front of the presidential palace in the morning on Jan 1st every year, we decided to stay up all night. While fighting with the sleeping bug, we watched two movies. The second one was a Thai scary movie. Who did rent this DVD?! We didn't know how come we would start the first day of year 2009 with this, but I was totally awake at 5:00AM and ready for the ceremony for sure.

After the flag-raising ceremony, we went for the first breakfast in year 2009 and then I decided to start my first day of the year with the furniture hunting. Since I didn't sleep for one night, the next day I slept for 15 hours! :-P

The flags on my backpack are the national flag of Taiwan. Why did I have so many flags? The contributions are from and decorated by Tzu-Hua and Leo. :-)
